I initially worked as a nurse and then worked in a Secondary School supporting pupils with a range of needs, including severe to profound hearing difficulties, visual impairment, learning and language needs and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). My experience both as a nurse and working in school has given me a valuable insight into how special educational needs impact on the lives of children and young people, including their access to education, ability to make progress and their social experiences. 

 

With over 25 years of experience in SEND, I have significant experience of writing EHC Plans, understanding the processes around the legislation, Code of Practice, EHC Needs Assessments and Annual Reviews.
